Global-Positioning-System - Survey

The Global Positioning System (GPS) question type enables you to automatically log geographical locations within your survey. You will need an appropriate GPS device attached to your Handheld or PC to use this question type.

Log Geographical Locations with PocketSurvey using GPS or Global Positioning Satellites Systems to track/map your latitude, longitude, altitude coordinates) on the handheld pocket PC.

The Pretec CF GPS cards works well but we can configure Pocket Survey to work with different GPS hardware systems.

Latitude, longitude, and altitude co-ordinates can be logged as separate fields or can be combined into the same field.

GPS on the Handheld

Most GPS devices communicate with the handheld through one of the communications ports. You can configure PocketSurvey on the handheld or handheld simulator to match the required interface port.

GPS tracking also works on you laptop using the PDA simulator. Handheld GPS, using a global positioning satellite software works with pdas such as the iPaq, Dell Axim, HP
